Yemaya: Queen of the Sea

€75.00

This moon-centric necklace also very much evokes the vibrations of the sea. This piece is therefore dedicated to the West African Goddess, Yemaya. In the Yoruba religion, she is considered to be the mother of the ocean and guardian to all living things, revered for her nurturing and protective nature. Yemaya is also closely associated with the moon and the feminine mysteries. Her great feminine powers can influence the tides and bring balance to the rhythms of the sea.

Wear this necklace proudly as you call upon Yemaya for inspiration and guidance.

This necklace features a crescent moon pendant that measures approximately 1.25 inches high and 1.25 inches wide, with a small blue cat’s eye gemstone, hematite and copper beads, and accents of spirals and swirls. The pendant portion hangs from strands of hand-linked gemstone beads, alternating between blue sea sediment jasper and oval blue frosted glass beads.

This necklace measures approximately 16.5 inches long, with an additional 2-inch extender chain. Dangling from the end of the chain is an additional frosted glass bead that will cascade dramatically down the back of your neck. This piece is made with bare copper wire, then carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal.
