This one of a kind handmade sun catcher features the iconic Tree of Life symbol, wrapped with copper wire onto a large round blue agate slice. The sun catcher is double sided with a different hand-sculpted tree on each side. It is further adored with sparkly glass beads, and dangling from the bottom is a faceted glass crystal prism that will catch the sunlight and create rainbows.
This piece is suitable for hanging indoors (in a window, for example) or outdoors. Note that the gemstones and glass beads are delicate, so use care with placement and bring indoors during storms or windy weather. The copper wire is already antiqued, but may also darken with oxidation over time (it can be gently polished with a soft cloth). The agate slice is a medium to light blue with some natural circular banding.
The symbolism of the Tree of Life crosses many cultures and spiritual beliefs, and often represents interconnectedness, immortality, and rebirth. The Celtic people felt a strong connection to nature and a reverence towards trees. They considered trees to be a gateway to other realms.
The sun catcher includes copper alloy chain and hand-hammered copper rings and top hook. The total length from top hook through the bottom prism is approximately 13.5 inches. The round agate tree feature is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. The top hook is approximately 3/4 inch wide.
Do not drop the sun catcher, as the agate and glass portions of the piece are fragile. Be mindful of wind causing the piece to fall or bang into other objects.
