At long last, the Practical Magic 2 necklace is here! An update and redesign of my previous popular Practical Magic necklaces, this sequel piece happens to coincide with the movie’s sequel.
No collection of witchy jewelry would be complete without a piece inspired by Practical Magic! Practical Magic (both book and film) focuses on our beloved magical witch sisters, witch aunts, and witchy house! Since the gemstone tiger’s eye made several appearances in the plot, I decided to work with this stone when creating this piece.
This intricately assembled necklace is completely handcrafted and features a combination of wire wrapping, soldering, hammering, and beading techniques. The beaded strands feature hand-linked tiger’s eye beads which come to a center point at the upper collar bone with a hand-hammered pure copper circle. From this center circle, hangs a drop pendant: a diamond-shaped copper frame with a bezeled round tiger’s eye focal piece in its center. Atop the round tiger’s eye stone sits a handmade copper crescent moon, points facing up.
The pure copper is carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal. Dangling from the back of the chain is another tiger’s eye bead that will cascade dramatically down the back of the neck when worn.
The earthy autumn colors of this statement piece are sure to bring some Practical Magic into your life. Remember: there's a little witch in all of us.
These necklaces are made to order, so each one will be slightly different and unique. Please allow for some slight variations from these photos due to the handcrafting nature, as well as natural variations in the stones and metals.
The main beaded strand of the necklace is 16-inches in length, adjustable longer with a 2.5-inch extended chain. Alternate chain lengths may be possible if you contact me in advance with your needs.
The pendant portion is approximately 2 inches in height and 1 inch wide. The total drop portion, including pendant, is approximately 3-inches. Please note that this piece is made to order, so sizing of each component will vary slightly, as each necklace is totally handmade and unique!
