Ostara
Ostara is the goddess of Springtime, fertility, renewal, and rebirth. Very much a statement piece, this necklace truly embodies the spring season and new beginnings.
This collar necklace features a large round rose quartz gemstone set in antiqued copper wire. Above the pink rose quartz stone sits a small amethyst stone. The pendant portion is comprised of hand-hammered wire encasing the stones, and is then attached to the collar portion of the necklace by way of twisting and entwining wires. Complex and intricately assembled, the pendant and collar portions are adorned with tiny handmade glass bead flowers, twisted tendrils and leaves, as well as spirals and swirls.
Ostara is also the name of the Pagan festival to call in Springtime, often taking place at the Spring Equinox. It is celebrated as a time of spiritual renewal and honoring the earth’s awakening. In fact, all of the Spring and fertility imagery within Easter celebrations were taken directly from Ostara.
This necklace simply exudes Spring, renewal, and the power to emerge from the earth like a flower. This piece is perfect for YOUR new beginning.
The pendant component measures approximately 2 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. It is attached to the stiff collar portion, which is made from copper wire twisted together and decorated with delicate beads. The curved collar portion measures approximately 8 inches across and sits high up against the neckline, on or above the collar bone.
The piece in its entirety hangs from a copper alloy chain which is adjustable to any link. The necklace as a whole, with chain, measures approximately 19 inches long at its longest point, and is adjustable shorter. Dangling from the back of the chain is an additional rose quartz bead that will cascade dramatically down the back of the neck when worn.
This piece is wrapped in bare copper wire, then carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal.
With over 100 tiny glass beads, this necklace is delicate and should be treated with care. There is a slight flexibility to the collar component, but please be extremely gentle and DO NOT BEND IT. Do not drop or hit necklace onto any hard surfaces. Avoid getting it wet. More care instructions will be enclosed with purchase.
