In ancient Roman mythology, Minerva was a warrior goddess associated with wisdom, justice, and strategy, as well as the arts and handicrafts. She is often depicted wearing armor and carrying a spear, and sometimes is seen with an owl for a companion.

The pendant possesses the strength and complexity of a warrior goddess. With a round black agate gemstone at its center, it is wrapped in hammered and antiqued copper wire in a design one could say resembles Minerva’s spear. It is adorned with spirals, criss cross wires, and copper beads. It hangs from hand-linked strands of faceted black onyx beads.

Black agate is associated with protection and grounding, while black onyx is associated with strength and shielding from negative influences.

The pendant is approximately 2.5 inches tall and 1 inch wide. The onyx chain measures 16.5 inches long, with a 2-inch extender chain. This piece is wrapped in copper wire, then carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal.
