Demeter
Often associated with the color green, Demeter is the Greek Goddess of the harvest and agriculture. Frequently identified as “the Great Mother” of goddesses, she presides over the fertility of the earth itself.
This necklace is made with a stunning teardrop-shaped green onyx stone, wrapped in antiqued copper wire in an organic yet balanced design. This stone has some lovely subtle circular banding that can be seen when held up to a light. Green onyx is said to restore youth and vitality, while fostering a connection with nature.
The pendant measures approximately 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Please note that this is a sizable pendant, larger than many of the others in my shop (see manneguin photo for scale). It hangs from a copper alloy chain that is 18 inches at its longest point, and is adjustable smaller to any link. Alternate chain lengths may be available upon request.
This piece is wrapped in bare copper wire, then carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal.
