Happy Spooky Season and Full Moon to all! Today is the Harvest Supermoon, in fact, which is quite auspicious. The weather here in Munich has been perfectly Autumny in every way. Crunchy leaves, crisp air, the smell of wood smoke, and the sight of squirells burying their loot all over the neighborhood…I’m loving every minute of it. I recently saw Thackery, the hedghog who lives in my garden, going back and forth carrying several loads of leaves and sticks into his house, presumably to prepare for his winter slumber. I stood there watching for several minutes and he wasn’t bothered by my presence one bit! Naturally, I went out that afternoon and bought him a new garden gnome to decorate his front lawn. I’m assuming he loves it.

A few announcements:

I will be selling my magical wares at a local event on Oct 18th! A new cultural center is opening up in my neighborhood and there will be an artists market as part of their openening weekend festivities. The artists market is from 1:30 - 6:00 pm at the Neue Ziegelei in Prinz Eugen Park. You can read more about it in this article. There will also be a variety of music, dance, and artwork shown throughout the whole weekend. If you’re local, please come by!

Tree of Life Blue Agate Sun Catcher

This one of a kind handmade sun catcher features the iconic Tree of Life symbol, wrapped with copper wire onto a large round blue agate slice. The sun catcher is double sided with a different hand-sculpted tree on each side. The agate slice is a medium to light blue with some natural circular banding.

It is further adored with sparkly glass beads, and dangling from the bottom is a faceted glass crystal prism that will catch the sunlight and create rainbows.

This piece is suitable for hanging indoors (in a window, for example) or outdoors. Note that the gemstones and glass beads are delicate, so use care with placement and bring indoors during storms or windy weather. The sun catcher includes copper alloy chain and hand-hammered copper rings and top hook.

The symbolism of the Tree of Life crosses many cultures and spiritual beliefs, and often represents interconnectedness, immortality, and rebirth. The Celtic people felt a strong connection to nature and a reverence towards trees. They considered trees to be a gateway to other realms.

The Hedge Witch

A Hedge Witch is typically seen as a mysterious maker of magic who lives on the edges of a community. Often a loner, she may be respected, feared, or probably both. She lives at the border of the town and the wilds, dwells on the edges, where the hedgerows grow.

She is the wise, wicked, and cunning practitioner, and the townsfolk seek out her help when all else fails. And she will help, perhaps with a spell or a potion or a tarot reading. This dramatic collar necklace features a copper sheen obsidian gemstone set in antiqued copper wire. Copper Sheen Obsidian is known for its intense protective qualities, acting as a shield that deflects negativity and bad energy. The stone itself is black with gorgeous copper-colored swirls and flecks that dance in the sunlight.

The pendant portion is comprised of hammered wire encasing the stone in a design both symmetrical and lavish, balancing curves with sharp edges. It is accented with copper and glass beads.
