The Lion’s Gate is Open Once Again

Today is 8/8! Happy Lion’s Gate, Magical Folk. The Lion's Gate Portal is an astrological phenomenon in which the star Sirius aligns with the Sun, Orion, and Earth between July 28 and August 12. This is said to be a powerful and auspicious time of year, amplifying manifestation energies. It reaches peak alignment on August 8! I hope you soak up all of this lucky energy, wherever you are and whatever you do today.

To add to all the juicy auspiciousness, tomorrow is also the Full Moon!

All is well here in Munich, though I have to say, the weather has been truly crazy! It’s been a wild ride this entire summer. The nutty weather has certainly affected some of the plant life here, yet somehow my tomato plant is going crazy, and my calendula is blooming quite nicely (pics above from my front balcony).

The Joan of Arc Pendant

The shape of this pendant evokes the image of a sword, so naturally it is dedicated to the greatest sword-wielding mystic in history: Joan of Arc. French warrior, Joan of Arc, is famous for playing a pivotal role in liberating France from English rule. She is perhaps even more well-known because she heard voices and saw visions, claiming to have received divine guidance when she led France to victory in battle.

It sounds to me like she was deeply open and connected to her own intuition, as well as her communication with various spirit guides. Naturally, like many women who are deeply in touch with their own psychic abilities, she was convicted of heresy and witchcraft (two words that I personally would take as great compliments), and unfortunately she was burned at the stake at the young age of 19.

Joan was later exonerated and canonized as a saint (of course). Many of the images today of Joan of Arc depict her wielding her sword. She claimed that her sword was blessed by Saint Catherine, one of her spirit guides, and that voices led her to find it. The whereabouts of her sword today are unknown, and quite the mystery. Some believe that she hid it before her death.

As I was shaping this pendant, it immediately reminded me of a sword, therefore I like to think that there is a touch of the vibration of Joan’s mystical sword in this piece. It features labradorite stone, which is said to foster connection to intuition, psychic abilities, and connection to the spirit realm. The piece is further adorned with hematite, which has been known to enhance protection and courage. May you wear this pendant and connect with Joan’s magic.

Lotus Flower Amulet: Orange Agate and Copper

This one of a kind amulet features the iconic lotus flower symbol wire wrapped in copper onto an orange agate gemstone. It is accented by copper beads, a spiral, and a twisted wire design.

The symbol of the lotus flower is often associated with Eastern practices such as yoga and meditation. It symbolizes enlightenment, peace, and rebirth. Orange agate is said to foster balance and grounding. This specimen is a lovely gradient with a deep orange towards the bottom, transitioning to a creamy yellow/white at the top. It almost resembles a sunset.

Tree of Life Sun Catcher: White Agate and Copper

This one of a kind handmade sun catcher features the iconic Tree of Life symbol, wrapped with antiqued copper wire onto a large asymmetrical oval white agate slice. The sun catcher is double sided with a different hand-sculpted tree on each side. The piece is further adored with sparkly glass beads, a cream colored crackle agate bead with a glass globe bead inside, and dangling from the bottom is a faceted glass crystal prism that will catch the sunlight and create rainbows.

This piece is suitable for hanging indoors (in a window, for example) or outdoors. Note that the gemstones and glass beads are delicate, so use care with placement and bring indoors during storms or windy weather. Please note that the copper wire is already antiqued, but may also darken with oxidation over time. The agate slice is banded and varies in color from a creamy white to a smoky grey.

The symbolism of the Tree of Life crosses many cultures and spiritual beliefs, and often represents interconnectedness, immortality, and rebirth. The Celtic people felt a strong connection to nature and a reverence towards trees. They considered trees to be a gateway to other realms.
