Beltane Blessings, Magical Folk…

Yesterday was the Pagan celebration of Beltane! Beltane, also known as Gaelic May Day, is the festival that marks the first foray into summertime. It is midway between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice. Beltane is celebrated with bonfires, maypoles, and the symbolism of the Green Man, who represents earth’s renewal and rebirth, and people’s connection to nature.

For me, the month of May is all about nature and green magic. In particular, I think of the deep green color fo nettles. This time of year, the nettles are at the perfect growth phase for picking. And a few days ago, I had my first nettle forage of the season! I took my bounty home, washed it well (of course!), and sautéed the greens in olive oil and fresh garlic. So delicious, and so good for you.

This one of a kind pendant features the iconic Tree of Life symbol, wire-wrapped with antiqued copper wire onto a large round Kambaba Jasper gemstone. It is set in a hammered copper wire bezel, which is further decorated with spirals, swirls, and copper beads.

Kambaba Jasper is a remarkable and unique stone; it is supposedly 3-billion years old and contains fossilized algae. Most often found in South Africa and Madagascar, it is striking to behold with green and black circles and swirls. This one of a kind amulet will evoke the magic of the Elven folk. This piece features antiqued and hammered copper wire wrapped around a tumbled moss agate gemstone with two twisted loops adorning the bottom. The pendant is further accented with a copper bead and twisted wires.

This pendant is sold on copper alloy chain that measures approximately 16 inches long with a 2-inch extender chain (alternate chain lengths may be available upon request). The pendant is approximately 2.25 inches tall and 1 inch wide. This piece is wrapped in bare copper wire, then carefully antiqued by hand and polished to bring out the organic highlights and lowlights of the beautiful metal.

The Green Witch

Get out your spell book and get ready to commune with nature! The Green Witch necklace features genuine moss agate beads dangling from hand-hammered antiqued copper spirals. There are five spiral pieces with beads dangling; the center-most piece also has a glass bead suspended from it. The spiral focal pieces are suspended from a chain of hand-linked moss agate beads.

Moss agate is known to be the crystal of gardeners, organic systems, and the environment. It is said to have a healing and grounding influence, fostering a connection to the earth.
