This necklace is named for Prue Halliwell, the incomparable character from the TV show Charmed, played by the late actress, Shannen Doherty. When I heard of her recent passing, it hit me quite hard. She was always one of my favorite witches, and my favorite Halliwell sister.

The triquetra is an ancient Celtic symbol. Through the ages, it has been used to represent many things, including the triple goddess. In Charmed, it represented the three sisters, aka The Charmed Ones, and the concept of "The Power of Three", a recurring theme throughout the show. Within the center of this copper triquetra is a round faceted larvikite bead. Larvikite is a mystical stone which represents transformation and inner strength.

This pendant is named "Building a Mystery" (credit: Sarah McLachlan) because the stone is just that: a mystery! I simply do not know what this gemstone is. I have consulted with crystal experts, gem enthusiasts, and a geologist, and have received different guesses from each. The stone itself is absolutely gorgeous, with earthy browns and perhaps a hit of yellow or pink depending on the light.

This pendant honors the Celtic Goddess, Ceridwen. It consists of a large oval rose quartz stone, set in hand-hammered antiqued copper, featuring the iconic triquetra symbol, with a small moss agate stone at its center. The bail is further adorned with spirals and swirls. Ceridwen is the goddess of transformation and rebirth. In Celtic mythology, she is also known to be a very powerful sorceress and witch. She is said to possess powers of prophecy and shapeshifting.

A Hedge Witch is typically seen as a mysterious maker of magic who lives on the edges of a community. Often a loner, she may be respected, feared, or probably both. She lives at the border of the town and the wilds, dwells on the edges, where the hedgerows grow. She is the wise, wicked, and cunning practitioner, and the townsfolk seek out her help when all else fails.

The pendant portion is comprised of hammered wire encasing the stone in a design both symmetrical and lavish, balancing curves with sharp edges. It is accented with copper and glass beads. The wire then twists wildly up the collar portion of the necklace, creating a statement piece that is enchanting and mysterious.
