For me, the changing of seasons is one of the most magical parts of living on planet Earth. The beginning of Springtime is particularly enchanting. The air may still feel wintry, but it seems like overnight, pale green buds have sprouted on trees, and flowers have popped out of the ground fully formed when we weren’t looking. Here in Germany, the blackbirds (Amseln) are particularly active as they scurry around, building their nests and singing their songs just before dawn. I enjoy taking walks in the abundant green spaces of my neighborhood, saying hello to the birds and squirrels, breathing in the crisp air that smells rich with that earthy mud smell of early Spring, and seeing the many crocuses, snowbells, and daffodils that are welcoming the new season once again. Every time I see a crocus, the Joni Mitchell song, Little Green, immediately pops into my head: Just a little Green
